Meet the Staff of Wedding
Bell Videos, Inc.
Eric and Marian Larson, President and Vice President
Eric and Marian Larson always dreamed of owning their own business.
After producing a feature-length film as Peace Corps volunteers in
the Central Pacific and having videotaped several weddings for family
and friends, the couple realized that a videography business neatly
combined their technical, journalistic, and artistic skills. The
couple founded Wedding Bell Videos, Inc., in December 2004. In 2005,
they filmed 28 weddings, and they did a whopping 60 weddings in 2006!
Events that invite or welcome emotion are rare in our society. Weddings are an
exception. What Eric and Marian love about this business is capturing that emotion
-- the laughs and tears, the heartfelt words, the reunion of family and friends.
Whether it's a small garden ceremony or a huge cathedral wedding, Wedding Bell
Videos, Inc., unobtrusively and professionally catches those moments you'll never
want to forget.
"We got married on a beautiful fall afternoon in October 2000 at my family's
farm in Raleigh," recalls Marian. "We didn't really think that having
a wedding video was that important. Boy were we wrong! I would give anything
to relive our wedding again - to see family members who have since passed away,
to see friends that we've lost touch with. Most importantly, I wish I could show
that beautiful occasion to our little girl."
Eric grew up in Florence, Ala., and graduated summa cum laude from Duke University
in 1993 with a B.A. in English. He has worked as a reporter (The Anniston Star
- Anniston, Ala.), a freelance writer, a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer (Republic
of Kiribati), a grant-writer (AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin - Milwaukee,
Wis.) and a nonprofit administrator (Children's Center for Family Services -
Cherokee, N.C.).
Marian was raised in Kinston, N.C., and received her B.A. in news-editorial journalism
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999. She has worked
as a copy desk intern (Cooking Light magazine - Birmingham, Ala.), a nonprofit
case manager (Big Brothers Big Sisters - Milwaukee, Wis.), and U.S. Peace Corps
Volunteer (Republic of Kiribati). Marian has done some freelance writing and
editing since living in Western North Carolina, and she currently stays busy
as company vice president.
Patrick Haney, Videographer and Digital Video Editor
Cameraman and digital video editor Patrick Haney is from Bangor,
Maine, and received his B.A. in journalism from the University of
Maine. Before joining Wedding Bell Videos, Inc. in August 2005, he
worked as a database manager for a product development/marketing
firm in San Francisco, Ca. He has also worked in newspaper advertising
in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Haney lives in Asheville and has "a lovely girlfriend named Brittain."
"Working for WBV, Inc., is great. The Larsons care a great deal about their
customers, and they always take the extra steps to ensure that the final product
is wonderful."
Company President Eric Larson has high praise for Haney's work.
"Pat is
a brilliant cameraman and a meticulous editor," Larson says. "He's
one of those guys you can always count on to do a first-rate job and show some
individual flair, too."
Charlie Pyron, Videographer
Cameraman Charlie Pyron graduated from UNC-Asheville in December
2006 with a B.A. in mass communication. He is from Greensboro, N.C.,
and has worked for UBS Financial Services in Asheville. He also has
had educational training in video production.
Charlie joined WBV, Inc., in February 2006.
"I love the challenge of figuring out the best way to get the best shots
during a wedding shoot. I also enjoy being around all the positive energy that
comes from the crowd at a wedding. Every wedding is different so the job is always
exciting."
"There is a great feeling of satisfaction after successfully filming a
wedding. I know that I am doing something that these couples will enjoy for the
rest of their lives, and there is a great fulfillment that comes with that."
"Charlie has a natural talent for camerawork and has the classroom experience
in video production to back it up," says Eric Larson, company president. "And
every client comments on what a nice guy he is, able to make those who appear
on camera feel relaxed and comfortable. That's key for those couples who want
friends and family to say a few words on their video for posterity."
